Have you ever heard about Susan Boyle? I think YES! I can say that this month is Susan Boyle’s month. Since her performance sang “I Dreamed A Dream” from Les Miserables in Britain’s Got Talent on April 11, 2009, all the world attention goes to her. She become a headline on many newspaper, television, radio. On Youtube many people search for Susan Boyle’s song on Britain’s Got Talent.

With her Sopran voice, she can make Simon Cowell shut his mouth and get 3 (three) YES vote from Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan (judges in Britain’s Got Talent). Susan Boyle is the first contestant who can get 3 YES from the judges since first Britain’s Got Talent. What an amazing performance, right?

Who Is Susan Boyle?

Susan Boyle was born in Blackburn, West Lothian on June 15, 1961. She is a Scottish amateur singer and church volunteer. She has not married yet and never been chased by man. She is an ordinary and simple woman.

She has a dream to be a professional singer and singing on the front of a lot of people. She also want to be like Ellaine Paige. What a big dream for Susan I think because her appearance doesn’t support it. But, she has a big confidence and believe that she can make it someday.

Do you know how long she has been waiting to sing in front of a lot of people? Since she was 12 years. She already try many talent competition but always failed. I don’t belief it, what a stupid person who refuse Susan with her Gold Voice. But is not Susan if she desperate with that failed, she always try until she got her dream on April 11, 2009.

On 1999, she made her only previous recording, singing Cry Me a River for a charity CD funded by the local council to commemorate the Millennium. It is only produce 1,000 pieces so now everybody is looking for that CD to be collected.

What Are The Messages from Susan Boyle’s Story?

  1. Don’t judge the book by its cover. It’s mean that you don’t ever judge someone by his/her appearance (body, hair, clothes, etc) before you see his/her performance and personality.
  2. You must have a DREAM. Dream is like a hope. Without HOPE, you will DIE. Without DREAM, your life is FLAVORLESS. Because DREAM will trigger you to make an action to do something to get your dream come true. No Action, Nothing Happen. Take Action, Miracle Happen!
  3. Confidence and Believe. Whatever your appearance is, don’t be shy or shame or feel unconfidence. Don’t feel that GOD unfair with you. You must believe that GOD has put something SPECIAL in you. You are worthy, pretty, special. Nobody like you.
  4. Don’t be desperate. I don’t care how many you have been failed in your life, you must always awake and try again until success. Thomas Alva Edison found light bulb after 1,999 times failed. Great people is not measure on how much he/she was success but on how much he/she can awake from their failure.
  5. Positive Thinking. If you have postive thinking, you will see all the things differently because you don’t see the negative side but the postive side that you can learn from it.
