Online Store

It has been over than 1 month since I never update my blog again, I’m so sorry for this. It is because over than 1 month I focus to study about online store and launch my online store Toko Linda and Alat Tulis Kantor. For me, online store has a great opportunity and will become a great long term business in the future.

Now, I want to share some of my little knowledge about online store. I hope it can help you to know more about online store.

First, Choose your target market, whether it is foreign country or local (your country itself). Each of them has a different and specific product that you must research first to choose which is suitable for each market. I prefer to choose local market. The benefit of local market than foreign market :

• The product is cheap especially if you have your own product that will be better because you have your own unique. More unique, more better.
• It is easier to promote for local market because you don’t need to use another language that maybe you can’t speak of it. You can easily to communicate your own product.
• It is cheaper to promote for local market.
• You can more understand the characteristic of your own country.
• If necessary, you can meet your customer directly.

Which one do you choose? Foreign or local?

Second, research. This is the important thing. You must carefully on this step. If you play on online business everything must be research first. You can use Google or any tool to research. From that research, you can decide what product do you want to sell, how much the competitor, how big is your opportunity if you want to sell the same product, etc.

Clue : Choose the product that you can get repeat order, product about hobby, entertainment, health, of course try to sell cheap product that you can get.

Cheap in here doesn’t mean the product is easy to break up. Cheap but still has a good quality.

Third, make your own online store. You can use OsCommerce, Joomla, WordPress or another program to make your online store. I suggest you to choose the program that you are familiar about it so you don’t wasting a lot of your time to make it. I choose OsCommerce for my online store because it is easy for me to handle it after I study it. You can make 1 online store with many product or 1 online store for 1 product. It is up to you. Choose the suitable one.

Fourth, Promote. Promotion is also the important thing to get an order. You can use Adwords, Facebook, Friendster, Forums, or another free advertising. Do a focus promotion. Don’t make a promotion for non-target market, it will waste your money without any result. If you sell for example baby clothes so do a promotion with target market mother or people that already married.

Five, Repeat first until fourth step above. If on the fact that you don’t get any order after a long time you already do everything to promote it. I suggest you to make another online store with a new product. Always fight, try and try and try again until you find the best product for you. Don’t be desperate!

Successful people isn’t be measured by how much their failed but from how much they can arise from their failed.
