We’re happy to announce that the PayBox Shop has retired…for now.

The Shop was designed as a way to help us test our developing payment systems and allow the PayBox EarlyBird users to be part of that testing. Overall, it was a great success.

The Shop is now closed because we have successfully completed that stage of the testing. We want to thank all of our users who participated with the PayBox Shop.

There is more testing and more growth to do before PayBox goes live and “Opens the Box”. We may even re-open the Shop in the future depending on our testing needs. Thanks again to all who participated!

Still discussing about PayBox.me, I want to tell you about new features of Paybox.me which is PayBox Shop.

What is PayBox Shop?

PayBox Shop is an auction/store service that allows you to put up items for sale, or purchase items from other PayBox users, using nothing but your PayBox balance as the medium of exchange.

Sounds great, right?

* If you want to grow your PayBox balance, just put something up for sale. It could be anything (well, anything legal at least).

* If you want to spend your PayBox balance, just search for items that are for sale.

Here are some PayBox Shop features that you must know :

1. PayBox Shop is being run as a completely separate service from PayBox.me.

* You will have to register as a new user on the PayBox Shop site.

* You may end up with a different username (if someone has already taken the one you want).

* Your PayBox Shop account balance will be completely separate from your PayBox.me account balance (but, you will have to fund your Shop account from your PayBox.me account).

2. PayBox Shop is in test mode, just like the rest of PayBox. That’s why we have EarlyBird users. It’s your job to help us test out our new payment processing service. PayBox Shop will be a fun way to do that, but keep in mind, it may break from time to time — certain features may not work quite right or not at all. Our developers have done their best to get things usable quickly, but we are aware of a few current problems. For example, the “forgot password” feature on PayBox Shop does not work. When you create an account on PayBox Shop, be sure to write down and remember your username and password for your new account.

3. PayBox Shop have NO customer service for the PayBox Shop yet. However, if things go well with the PayBox Shop, we would like to begin hiring some customer service people to handle problems people may be having. But, for now, there is no customer support.

4. PayBox Shop are working to fix problems with PayBox Shop (like “forgot password”), but it should be usable.

Special Features

Local Pick-up

We’ve added a few really great features to make things easier for buyers and sellers. For example, when posting an item for sale, you can set the Shipping Method to “Local Pick-up Only”. That way, if someone buys the item from you, you don’t have to worry about packaging the item or paying for shipping.

If you’re a buyer, looking for a local item, the developers have added a wonderful Google Maps based Local Item Search to help you find all items that have been listed as “Local Pick-up Only” in your area.

Digital Goods

In addition, you can select the category of Digital Goods and attach Digital Goods to your auction. That way, only the person who wins your auction will be able to download the item…and it will all happen automatically. With Digital Goods, you just post the auction and leave it. When the winner pays (with their PayBox.me account) they are automatically given access to the item within the “Won Items” area of the website.

Real Auctions

You can post and bid on real items for sale.

BUYERS: If you bid on real auctions, you will be expected to pay the amount you bid from your PayBox.me account to purchase the item. You will also be expected to have real account information for the seller to contact you or ship the item to you.

SELLERS: If you post real auctions, you will be expected to sell the item and (if it isn’t Digital Goods or a Local Pick-up) you will be expected to ship the item to the buyer upon receiving payment from their PayBox.me account.

Test Auctions

If you have nothing to sell, please post or bid on test auctions to help us test out our transaction processing, etc. However, if you post test auctions be sure to label them as TEST auctions.

In order to properly post test auctions, you can either list them in Everything Else > Test Auctions, or you can put “TEST” at the beginning of the item title and clearly in the item description.

It has been over than 1 month since I never update my blog again, I’m so sorry for this. It is because over than 1 month I focus to study about online store and launch my online store Toko Linda and Alat Tulis Kantor. For me, online store has a great opportunity and will become a great long term business in the future.

Now, I want to share some of my little knowledge about online store. I hope it can help you to know more about online store.

First, Choose your target market, whether it is foreign country or local (your country itself). Each of them has a different and specific product that you must research first to choose which is suitable for each market. I prefer to choose local market. The benefit of local market than foreign market :

• The product is cheap especially if you have your own product that will be better because you have your own unique. More unique, more better.
• It is easier to promote for local market because you don’t need to use another language that maybe you can’t speak of it. You can easily to communicate your own product.
• It is cheaper to promote for local market.
• You can more understand the characteristic of your own country.
• If necessary, you can meet your customer directly.

Which one do you choose? Foreign or local?

Second, research. This is the important thing. You must carefully on this step. If you play on online business everything must be research first. You can use Google or any tool to research. From that research, you can decide what product do you want to sell, how much the competitor, how big is your opportunity if you want to sell the same product, etc.

Clue : Choose the product that you can get repeat order, product about hobby, entertainment, health, of course try to sell cheap product that you can get.

Cheap in here doesn’t mean the product is easy to break up. Cheap but still has a good quality.

Third, make your own online store. You can use OsCommerce, Joomla, WordPress or another program to make your online store. I suggest you to choose the program that you are familiar about it so you don’t wasting a lot of your time to make it. I choose OsCommerce for my online store because it is easy for me to handle it after I study it. You can make 1 online store with many product or 1 online store for 1 product. It is up to you. Choose the suitable one.

Fourth, Promote. Promotion is also the important thing to get an order. You can use Adwords, Facebook, Friendster, Forums, or another free advertising. Do a focus promotion. Don’t make a promotion for non-target market, it will waste your money without any result. If you sell for example baby clothes so do a promotion with target market mother or people that already married.

Five, Repeat first until fourth step above. If on the fact that you don’t get any order after a long time you already do everything to promote it. I suggest you to make another online store with a new product. Always fight, try and try and try again until you find the best product for you. Don’t be desperate!

Successful people isn’t be measured by how much their failed but from how much they can arise from their failed.
